12-23 Landrum 65th Anniversary

Donald Byrd Landrum and the former Helen Carlene Barker will celebrate their 65th wedding anniversary on Dec. 21 in Palestine with their family and friends. The couple was married Dec. 21 1942 in Houston. They resided there for 46 years before relocating to Palestine eight years ago after their retirement. Donald and Helen are members of First Baptist Church of Palestine. She is a noted artist who taught art students from her studio while also being an accomplished seamstress and homemaker. He was a prominent barber in his shop for more than 50 years. A World War II decorated war veteran, he served the 15th Air Force 485th Bomb Group and was a Purple Heart recipient. As members of the Cars of Palestine Car Club they own a restored original ‘63 Ford Fairlane 500 Hardtop. The couple have four children. Beverly Ann Biggs of Powderly, Texas, Donald Keith Landrum of Houston, Dennis Craig Landrum of Palestine and Bonnie Kathlyn Mierschin of Boerne. They have seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
