Local emergency responders tend to the driver of a late model Cadillac after she drove her sedan into a drainage ditch along Palestine Avenue Thursday afternoon. The woman, whose identity Palestine police have not released as of press time, was transported to a local hospital for treatment. Eyewitnesses to the crash said she struck a utility pole and at least one other vehicle at the intersection of Palestine Avenue and Cottage Street before the vehicle overturned and came to a stop upside down in the ditch. Power was disrupted to area customers after the collision snapped the power pole and severed electric lines. Responders to the incident include officers from the Palestine Police Department, Palestine Fire Department firefighters, Palestine Regional Medical Center EMS, Oncor Electric work crew, Texas Department of Public Safety trooper, officials with the Texas Department of Transportation and Big Mike's Wrecker Service.
