Neches River flooded

The Neches River slowly slips back between its banks along U.S. Highway 84 West at the Anderson/Cherokee county line last week week after strong thunderstorms dumped several inches of rain on East Texas during the last week of October. According to the National Weather Service's website, www.weather.gov, Anderson County's extended forecast reports a cold front entering the area today with a high of 55 degrees and temperatures dropping to a low of 29 overnight, with Wednesday's temps expected reach s high of 48 and low of 33. A slight chance of rain, 20 percent, is predicted Thursday and continues through Monday.
