Bear supply drive

Bert the Bear is lonely and needs some friends to help keep him company while Anderson County’s Blankets and Bears Children’s Fund collects bears and blankets for the area’s abused or neglected children. Donations are currently being collected at the Palestine Herald Press, 519 N. Elm St. The grassroots program collects stuffed toys, blankets, books and other items which are provided to children in times of trauma, loss or injury. The program also helps educate residents on the awareness and prevention of child abuse. Visit or call Sandra Lane, Vicki Hills or Jackson Hanks at 903-729-6048 to find out how to help. The Herald-Press is also currently holding a school supply drive for Palestine’s underprivileged students. Bring bears and/or school supplies to the newspaper’s front office between the hours of 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
