The Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3907 hosted a 9/11 Patriots’ Day memorial service on Wednesday, in remembrance of those who perished in the Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attacks. Pictured are some of the veterans, active duty military personnel and representatives from the Palestine Fire Department, Anderson County Sheriff’s Office and EMS. Guest speaker was the Rev. George Williams, a veteran who saw one of the World Trade Center towers fall while working near New York City on Sept. 11, 2011. He said a prayer for not only those lost on 9/11, but those in attendance who represented police, fire, EMS and military. Members of Boy Scout Troop 440 and Girl Scout Troop 1417 also participated in the service.
