FRANKSTON — A 39-year-old Frankston woman was killed and a 52-year-old Forney woman injured during a head-on wreck Wednesday night on U.S. 175 inside the Frankston city limits.

Danielle Ross Fite, 39, of Frankston died approximately two hours after the wreck at a Jacksonville hospital, according to Texas Department of Public Safety spokesperson Tela Mange.

As of early Thursday, Connie Suzette Morris, 52, of Forney was listed in “stable” condition with a broken leg at East Texas Medical Center in Tyler, according to Mange.

The wreck occurred at approximately 7:45 p.m. Wednesday on U.S. 175, approximately 6/10 mile west of the intersection of Texas 155, the DPS spokesperson told the Herald-Press.

Fite was operating a 1995 Toyota four-door passenger car, while Morris was driving a 2006 Hyundai four-door passenger car at the time of the wreck, according to the DPS.

“Ms. Fite’s vehicle was traveling westbound on 175 and Ms. Morris’ vehicle was traveling eastbound on 175 when Ms. Fite entered into the eastbound lane and collided head-on with Ms. Morris’ vehicle,” Mange said.

Fite was pronounced dead at East Texas Medical Center in Jacksonville at 9:52 p.m. Wednesday, approximately two hours after the wreck, according to the DPS.

Fite and Morris were both wearing seat belts, according to Mange.

The fatal wreck is being investigated by DPS Trooper Leonard Sandifer.
