Seminar to focus on employee management practices

PALESTINE — The Palestine Area Chamber of Commerce will present “The 3 Squares: Hiring, Firing and Retention” Seminar from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday at the Ben E. Keith Community Room, 2019 W. Oak St.

Kim Stacy with Workforce Solutions of East Texas will be the guest speaker. Stacy is a 19-year employee with the Workforce Solutions of East Texas, which is part of the Texas Workforce Solutions Network. She is a supervisor for Employer Services covering seven counties, with offices in Palestine, Jacksonville, Tyler, Athens, Canton, Emory and Quitman.

Stacy has served on the board of directors for the Jacksonville Chamber of Commerce where she was the education division chair, which includes Adopt-A-School, education committee and leadership.

She is a member of the “Blue Ribbon” Committee, helping the forward progress of Jacksonville.

She also is part of the Economic Development Project Team –Tyler Economic Development Division and works with prospective employers that are interested in Tyler.

In addition, Stacy is a member of the Vocational Technology Board with Jacksonville High School and Jacksonville Baptist College and presently serves as the 2009 Project Graduation Chair.

This is an informative seminar for any business that would like to know procedures and practices of employee management.
