Please send the box tops to Nancy Griffey at Cayuga Middle School. Classes are competing.

Thank You — CMS would like to thank Troy Case and the Texas Forest Service for donating trees and shrubs to our campus. Case assisted eighth graders in planting shrubs around the campus. Thanks so much for your interest in our school.

Upcoming Events — Monday, district track meet at 3:30 p.m. in Cross Roads; Tuesday, Henderson County Livestock Show begins; Wednesday, blood drive (see Jackie Willingham); April 5, end of fifth six weeks; April 6, school holiday/Good Friday.

ELEMENTARY SCHOOL

PCCD — Mrs. Richard’s PPCD class joined the kindergarteners in their annual Kindergarten Rodeo. In celebration of the rodeo, students made their own cowboys and bluebonnets. They are hoping to take a trip to the Henderson County Livestock Show in Athens this week. Her students will be setting up a science center and will go on a walk discovering nature.

They also have been busy learning how to write their numbers.

Kindergarten — On March 16, kindergartners participated in the annual Kindergarten Rodeo. They took part in a number of rodeo events. These included a stick horse race, a boot hill race and steer roping. They also had cow patty and rattlesnake tosses. Pictures were taken of each cowboy and cowgirl. Kindergarteners were treated to hot dogs and a hay ride by Cayuga ISD Superintendent Dr. Rick Webb. In addition to the rodeo, students learned about the Texas symbols and made a book containing each symbol. Next, they will study the letter “V” and all about vegetables and volcanoes.

First Grade — First graders are practicing their story cards and are busy preparing for ITBS testing scheduled for April 2-4. To end the week, they will have an Easter lunch on April 5. They also will have an Easter egg hunt with kindergarteners.

Little Dribblers — A big congratulations goes out to all six Little Dribbler teams from Cayuga. They will be traveling April 4-7 to Levelland for the National Tournament. We wish them the best of luck.

Upcoming Events — April 3, Math TAKS; April 5, end of fifth six weeks; April 6, Easter holiday.
