Elkhart girls win Woden cross country meet

WODEN — The Elkhart varsity girls won the Woden cross country meet Saturday with 38 points.

Elkhart had three top 10 finishers with Rebecca Jensen taking second place, Amanda Ham finishing third and Lyric Duncan taking sixth. Amber Boyd finished 12th, Elise Davis was 16th and Brittney Davenport was 29th.

The varsity boys were led by Jayson Jensen, who finished 14th. Also racing for the varsity boys’ team were Chris Herrington, Joseph Yeager, Bryan Thompson, Bryant Angton and Chris Rodriguez.

The junior varisty boys also completed in Woden and the team members were Justin Kennedy, Braxton Pew, Eric Dian and Justin Bing.

The junior high girls finished in second place with Anna Clark taking third and Catie Bridges finishing ninth. Also running for the junior high girls were Tiffany Claborn (14th); Bethany Witte (16th); Jayme Irvin (18th); Madelon Hays (26th) and Hanna Vickers (30th).

The junior high boys took third place. The team was comprised of Lucas Boykin (3rd); Hayden Gray (16th); Chris Cook (22nd); Hunter Douglas (28th); Jordan Ives (38th); Cade Allen (40th); Millage Hawthorne (44th); Chance Chapman (74th) and Blake Combs (76th).
