But when I have memories of loved ones who served in wars I remember my uncles and granddad in both World Wars, and the harrowing experiences of my great-aunt who survived prison camps during World War II.
A salute to the Greatest Generation
In Tom Brokaw’s book, “The Greatest Generation,” he refers to the men and women who lived through the Great Depression and then fought World War II as “…the greatest generation any society has ever produced.”
