Tyler Thomas, 6, practices his roping technique on a plastic dummy Friday afternoon at the Texas State Railroad’s Rusk Depot. Thomas, who goes by his nickname of Black Jack Morgan when at Old West re-enactment events, was there with his grandmother, “Texas Ruby,” a member of the Palestine Ranger Company A. The Rangers were demonstrating trick roping, Old West shooting and gun safety for visitors attending The Lone Ranger Rides Again event.
