Palestine and Westwood will be moving to District 20-3A in the University Interscholastic League’s latest realignment which was released this morning.
Palestine and Westwood will stay in the same district with Fairfield but will pick up new schools in Crockett, Athens and Brownsboro.
“It is going to be a good district,” Westwood athletic director Shane Jones said this morning. “It is a little different than what we thought.”
For other Dogwood Circle schools, there also has been some changes made.
Elkhart and Franskston head into the same district — 19-2A. The Elks and Indians are joined by Arp, Garrison, West Rusk and Troup. Woden and Central Heights also will be in the district for basketball.
Cayuga and Grapeland remain in the same Class A district — 20-A, along with Alto, Cushing and Cross Roads. The district also includes Overton and Price Carlisle.
Oakwood goes down to six-man football this year and will be in the same district along with Apple Springs, Avalon, Coolidge, Penelope and Trinidad.
