Commissioner ignored roads
I am thankful that our county commissioners are elected and not appointed.
Thanks for bringing musical to town
We would like to express our sincere thanks to the Bacon Family of GM Dealerships for bringing the musical “Always Patsy Cline” to Palestine on July 19 at the Palestine Civic Center.
ACAD oversight needed
With increasing news of home foreclosures and bank failures across the country and both Fannie Mae and Freddy Mac on the verge of a government bailout, due to bad mortgage loans brought on by overly inflated property values and predatory lending practices, the chief appraiser at the Anderson County Central Appraisal District continues to maintain that real estate property values are on the rise in Anderson County.
County’s surplus not that great
I read with interest the report in Tuesday’s Herald-Press of the county’s outside auditor’s glowing report of the great financial shape the county’s finances are in with a $5.5 million surplus.
Quick qualified for sheriff
With local elections approaching, I give thought to the question of whom I will vote for as Anderson County sheriff?
Gas prices not our only problem
No apology necessary after arrest
Thanks to local law enforcement
Sheriff right to set priorities
I would like to applaud Sheriff Greg Taylor for his response to Judge Ray’s comments concerning the litter problem in our county.
