Presley works for betterment of city

Published Fri., May 8, 2009

The Palestine Herald

Steve Presley is on the May 9 ballot for re-election to the Palestine City Council. Those of you who know Steve are well aware of the “extras” this city councilman brings to the table. Not only does he spend many hours in his capacity as city councilman, Steve almost single-handedly saved the Texas State Railroad.

As you know, the TSRR was in danger of being closed by the state legislature. Due to Steve’s leadership (and untold hours of work), this valuable asset is in operation and bringing dollars to our city.

His persistence as president of the TSRR Authority, along with being past president of the Anderson County Soccer Association, member of the Palestine Planning and Zoning committee, and past president of the PISD Board of Trustees are other examples of Steve’s commitment to Palestine.

Coupled with his experience on the City Council and his dedication to his hometown, it is clear that Steve Presley is the best candidate for District 6 City Councilman. He works for the betterment of Palestine, not personal recognition.
