No flags at courthouse on Fourth

I was disappointed as I drove by the Anderson County Courthouse on July 4 and didn’t see the flags out around the walkway.

How impressive it would have been to see all those flags waving around an already beautiful courthouse, which is one of the prettiest I have seen for a county seat. The poles are already in place and not one flag on them. We are proud to be Americans and proud of our flag, which represents the sacrifices made by our men and women in the military.

It is true, there were a lot of businesses and residences that displayed our flag and the courthouse should have.

I will call the county commissioners before Veterans Day and remind them, lest they forget.
