Draw attention to important issue

Are you a homeowner in the city of Palestine, 65 years of age or older? Your homestead exemption allows your school and county taxes to be frozen. However your over-65 exemption for the City of Palestine is only $11,000 and has been at that amount for 25-30 years or more. It needs to be increased now!

Please make plans to attend the city council meeting at City Hall on Monday, July 27 at 5:30 p.m.

We will request that they increase the over-65 exemption immediately. It is our right to speak up, as this affects many senior citizens in our community. The more people attending this meeting the more attention we will draw to this need.
