Services for Sharon Kay McCurdy, 61, of Palestine will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the Evangelistic Temple with Dr. Barry Roberts officiating. Burial will follow at Land of Memory Cemetery under the direction of Herrington/Land of Memory Funeral Home.
Ms. McCurdy died Sunday at Palestine Regional Medical Center.
She was born Oct. 9, 1947, in Fort Worth to Carl A. McCurdy Jr. and Frances Burnette Jones.
Ms. McCurdy had lived here most of her life and was a member of the Evangelistic Temple. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and loved gardening. One of the greatest joys in her life was spending time with her great-niece and nephews, Meredith and Drake Daly and Evan Finn.
She was preceded in death by her parents and beloved stepfather, Eugene Robert Jones.
Ms. McCurdy is survived by her sons, Bryan Zacher of Oregon and Darryl Wright of Arizona; daughter, Cheryl Wright of Arizona; sister, Joan Daly of Palestine; three grandchildren, Kayla Stigh, Brandon and Chelsea Zacher; nieces and nephew, Tracie Finn and husband Robert of Tyler, Ronnie Daly and wife Dinah of Bullard, and Melissa Bell and husband Terry of Palestine; and great-niece and nephews.
Pallbearers will be deacons of Evangelistic Temple. Honorary pallbearers will be all of her cousins who brought many years of joy and laughter to her life and a very special friend, John Nolan.
Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. today at Herrington/Land of Memory Funeral Home.
