Patriotic Freedom Fellowship at 6 p.m. Sunday at First Baptist Church, Elkhart.  Everyone is invited to join us as we celebrate an evening of faith, fun, food & fellowship.



Tennessee Colony Church- VBS dates are June 28-July 3 beginning at 5:15 with supper for all attendees.  The theme is STudio Go.  A gameshow atmosphere with Wade Winalot, Professor Wordsmart, Coach Armstrong and others. 

Vacation Bible School begins Sunday evening June 28 at 5:15pm with supper for all workers, students and helpers. Bring a canned food item or other non-perishable item. Food items are being collected for a local effort. The sanctuary has been transformed into a Studio Game Show. Come meet Wade Winalot, Coach, Professor Wordsmart and the others. Invite your neighbor, friend, grandchildren and the child down the street. A personal invitation from a Tennessee Colony Church member will be the most effective form of outreach.

Closing program will be Friday night July 3 and all family members are invited to join us for supper and water fun.



New Life Community Church

Celebrate Recovery at New Life Community Church is held each Friday from 6-9 p.m. Celebrate Recovery addresses all your hurts, habits and hang-ups, not just alcohol and chemical addictions. It is also for those struggling with family dysfunction, divorce, anger, co-dependency, sexual addiction, food addiction, financial recovery and much more. The church is located at 2320 U.S. 155 N. Texas Gospel Music Hall

Acclaimed artists, The Kingsmen from North Carolina and The Lifeway Trio of Texas will be in concert at the Texas Gospel Music Hall beginning at 6 p.m. on Saturday, June 27. All God’s Children Holy Temple

All God’s Children Holy Temple will host its Revival services July 16-17 at 7 p.m. each evening. On July 19 beginning at 3 p.m. the church will host its Homecoming services.

The theme is “Put on the new man and be renewed in the spirit of your mind.”

The guest speaker is the Rev. Michael Thompson, pastor of St. James Missionary Baptist Church of Elkhart.

Pleasant Hill Baptist Church

Pleasant Hill Baptist Church of Frankston welcomes all to its Revival and its Homecoming services.

The church’s revival will hold its final service beginning at 7:30 p.m. this evening. The Rev. E.A. Collins, pastor of Mt. Calvary Baptist Church in Kansas City, KS is the guest speaker and he will also be speaking in the 11 a.m. worship service at Old Bethel Baptist Church in Tennessee Colony on Sunday.

The Homecoming services will begin at 3 p.m. The Rev. Zeb Cantley, pastor of Fairview Baptist Church in Tyler, will be the guest speaker.



Southside Baptist Church

This Sunday during the morning worship service the Lord’s Supper will be observed at Southside Baptist Church.

A beginner’s quilting class will be offered at no charge at the church to anyone interested in this craft. The group will meet at 9:30 a.m. on Tuesdays, beginning June 30. You will learn piecing, appliqué and English paper piecing, as well as how to assemble and quilt your sampler. This is a hand sewing class with instructions for the machine. Union United Methodist Church

Union United Methodist Women will observe its annual Women’s Day beginning at 3 p.m. this Sunday.

The guest speaker will be Shelia Davis, a member of Morning Star Baptist Church. Providing special music will be a community choir with soloists Ruth Edwards and Mert Ester Shed.

The public is invited.

Women in Red at Faith Temple Ministries

Faith Temple Ministries in Fairfield, located on North U.S. 75, will host its Women In Red Program beginning at 4 p.m. this Sunday. The mistress of ceremonies will be first lady DeMetria Daniel of Palestine. Praise and worship leader will be the Rev. Val Horn of Corsicana and the guest speaker will be the Rev. Joyce Green of Mt. Zion Baptist Church of Fairfield. Also on the program will be Fairfield Baptist Church of Fairfield, Taylor’s Memorial of Corsicana and Behind the Veil of Fairfield and many more special guests. The coordinator for this year’s event is Helen Hatcher. The host pastor is the Rev. P.A. Rischer.



Long Lake Baptist Church

Long Lake Baptist Church has concluded its Vacation Bible School for this summer. Church members enjoyed the privilege of touching lives of children with the Gospel of Jesus Christ during its VBS a church release stated.

Services at Long Lake begin with Sunday school at 9:45 a.m. followed by worship at 10:50 a.m. and again at 6 p.m. Wednesday prayer and Bible study begins at 6 p.m.

Rev. Max Martin is the church pastor and Carl and Barbara Dorsey are the youth directors.

Beulah Missionary Baptist Church

Beulah Missionary Baptist Church of Elkhart will celebrate its annual Youth and Usher Day program beginning at 3 p.m. this Sunday.

The message will be given by the Rev. Howard Heggins, associate minister of the North Star Missionary Baptist Church in Tyler.

Praise Dance will be given by Morning Star Baptist Church.

First Baptist Church Neches

The Rev. Nathan McBride, pastor of First Baptist Church Neches, will bring his Sunday morning message on “God Shed His Grace on Thee” from 2nd Chronicles 15:1-4. Sunday evening’s message will be “Heroes Proved In Liberating Strife” from 2nd Samuel 23:8-17. A color guard will be present in the morning service.

Following the Sunday morning message, the church will have a youth ministry bake sale fund-raiser. Proceeds will help youth go to camp.

Purity Study will begin this Wednesday evening for grades 3-6. The boys “The Squire and the Scroll” will be taught by Jerry Watters. The girls “The Princess and the Kiss” will be taught by Jane Ward.

There will be a deacon ordination service at 3 p.m. this Sunday at the church for Jimmy Batchelor. All area pastors and deacons are encouraged to attend.

Parents of students attending Pineywoods Youth Camp will meet at 7:15 p.m. this Sunday.

There will be an ice cream social following the evening service.

A trip to Green Acres Baptist Church to see “I Love America” at 7 p.m. will be on June 29. Those who plan to attend will leave at 5:30 p.m.

The Rev. McBride can be heard on 106.5 Sunday mornings from 7:55 - 8 a.m.

Broyles Chapel Baptist Church

Bible study classes for all ages begins at 9:45 a.m. at Broyles Chapel Baptist Church. A new Bible study class, “New Beginnings” began last Sunday. This will be a six week course taught by Earline Reagan. Worship follows at 11 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. Adult choir practice follows at 7:30 p.m.

The Wednesday visitation Prayer Drive has begun. Teams will be driving around the Broyles Chapel Community praying for each home within a mile radius of the church. For more details on where you can be used in this drive see Joe Blaha or Rev. Willie Reagan. Darla Blaha will be leading the prayer warriors at the church for the drivers. See Darla for more details on where you can be used as a prayer warrior if you are not on a team to drive around the neighborhoods. This visitation will be held instead of the usual prayer and Bible study on Wednesdays. It begins at the usual time of 6:30 p.m. at the church. The drivers will drive and pray at each home three times before an actual visit will be made.

The children will return from camp this Saturday.

A church nursery is provided for all services.



Evangelistic Temple

“Take Away the Stone” is the title of the message by Dr. Barry Roberts, church pastor of Evangelistic Temple, at the 6 p.m. Saturday service and the 8:30 a.m. and 10:45 a.m. Sunday worship services. His text is from John 11:1-7. This is a continuation of a series of sermons title “Life Unchained.”

Wednesday Night Live classes begin at 6:30 p.m. following the family meal.

A nursery is provided for each services.



St. James Missionary Baptist Church

On Sunday, July 5, the Rev. James Horton will be the 11 a.m. speaker at St. James Missionary Baptist Church. At 3 p.m. the church will host its Friends and Family Celebration. The Rev. James Bishop of Willis will be the guest speaker.

Mt. Vernon A.M.E. Church

Sunday services at the historic Mt. Vernon African Methodist Episcopal Church, located at 913 Calhoun St., will begin with the assembling of church school classes at 9:45 a.m. for a discussion of the topic: “Finding And Giving Protection,” as it is recorded in Exodus 14:15-25 and verse 30.

The 11 a.m. experience begins with the familiar call to worship followed by hymns of joy and praise and delivery of the spoken word. The Rev. Theresa Hamilton and the Licentiate Bobby Carwell will officiate during the celebration.

The Wednesday activity schedule includes: pastoral teaching from 6-7 p.m.; Biblical review from 7-7:30 p.m.; Youth in Action from 6:30 -7 p.m. and choir rehearsal from 7-7:30 p.m.

Lutherans Attend Statewide Convention

Representatives from Bethlehem Lutheran Church are joining more than 500 pastor and lay delegates from across Texas at the 58th triennial convention of the Texas District of the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod (LCMS), which is being held this weekend at the Intercontinental Hotel in Addison, TX. Delegates from Bethlehem are the Rev. David R. Bergman and Devin Jackson, congregation president.

The Texas District is made up of 385 ministries whose representatives gather every three years for worship, Bible study, prayer, inspirational fellowship and decision making. “The Texas District continues to aggressively seek ways to reach the growing number of people throughout Texas with the Good News of Jesus Christ,” said Texas District President, the Rev. Ken Hennings, who is completing his first three-year term. The President of the 2.3 million member LCMS, the Rev. Dr. Gerald Kieschnick, who is from Texas, is addressing the convention today.

Bethlehem congregation, located across from Palestine High School at 1515 S. Loop 256, this week celebrates the Fourth Sunday After Pentecost, beginning with summer Sunday school and adult Bible class at 9 a.m. In the 10:15 a.m. Divine Service the message is “Reaching, Receiving and Refreshing,” based on Philemon 3-7, which is the theme of this week’s church convention.

Bethlehem congregation will be hosting Vacation Bible School the week of July 6-10 for children ages Pre-Kindergarten through those who have completed fifth grade. Cedar Creek Missionary Baptist Church

Sheridan Terrace Baptist Church

The youth of Sheridan Terrace Baptist Church will sponsor a spaghetti lunch after the 10:45 a.m. worship service this Sunday. The youth will attend SOAR, a retreat of worship, music and commitment July 1-3. Youth sponsors Ty and Bridgette Woodall will accompany them.

This Saturday at Tabernacle Baptist Church Elkhart/Redtown will be the church will have a church wide barbecue. The meat will be furnished by the church and Richard Pharis will cook it. Everyone else can bring side dishes. There will also be family time and play some games.

At 4 p.m. this Sunday there will be a nominating committee meeting to discuss upcoming changes for the new church year. If you would like a position that the committee is not aware of let someone know that is on that committee. The committee will also discuss adding a new children’s age class.

Girls are getting ready to go to camp at the end of July.

First United Methodist Church Palestine

Grace Bible Church

Sunday Services begin at 11:00 am and are held at 1020 W. Hamlett Street (Old Washington School). Our informal service includes contemporary music and practical, expository teaching.  A nursery is provided for infants and toddlers through 4 years of age.

Children’s Summer Sunday School meets at 10:00 am.  Elizabeth Moore leads children ages 2 years through 6th grade as they study the names of God.

Memory Lane MBC

Memory Lane Missionary Baptist Church is located at 2213 Crockett Rd. Sunday School starts at 10:00 AM with Sunday morning worship at 10:50 AM. Sunday evening worship is at 6:00 PM. Wednesday night services are at 7:00 PM.

The Ladies Auxiliary-WOW-meets on the third Tuesday of each month. The Saintly Seniors group (anyone over 50 yrs) meets the fourth Tuesday of each month.

Friendship Baptist Church

The Ecuador mission team will be selling hamburgers & chips to-go after the morning service. Each basket is $6.00. The team will

 The Carpenter's House

Another great week for the youth of The Carpenter's House ! This past week was Summer Camp at Weatherford and it went great. Thanks to all that helped to raise funds for the ones attending. Different ages will be going through out the summer.

We had membership and baptizing both in the Month of June and it was wonderful. A special welcome goes out to all that have visited the Carpenter's House recently. Hope to see you again.

This coming Sunday evening is Last Sunday Fellowship. Each last Sunday of the month we have food and fellowship following evening service. Hope you can make it. Services begin on Sunday mornings at 9:30 with classes and is followed by worship at 10:30 a.m. The evening worship time starts at 6:00 p.m. and Wednesday nights are at 7:00 p.m.

Cook off Set for This Saturday at Cornerstone Worship Center, Judging will begin at12:00pm and we will serve plates at 1:00pm for $5.00 a peice, and that will include tea and bread, we will have judges come from different areas in town, one of our judges is Buddy Jackson from Kyyk. St. Philip's Episcopal Church

In gratitude for their love and service to St. Philip's, the Episcopal Church Women are planning a reception for Fr. Joe and Carol Chambers to follow the 10 a.m. Service on Sunday, the 28th of June. Fr. Chambers has served as interim rector since March, 2009, and this is his last Sunday as celebrant.

June 28th is the Fourth Sunday after Pentecost with the designated Gospel being Mark 5:21-43. Traditional Episcopal services at celebrated at 7:30 AM, Rite I and 10:00 AM, Rite II.

A Confirmation-Inquirer's Class is continuing for those interested in learning more about the Episcopal Church and those wishing to be confirmed in the Episcopal Church. The classes are held on Thursdays at 5 PM. Bishop Rayford High will be present to conduct the Confirmation service at the 10:00 AM service on July 26. St. Philip's offers weekly programs to which everyone is invited. A Bible study class is offered on Wednesdays at 10:00 AM. The Wednesday morning Bible Study group continues an ongoing study of the Scriptural roots of the Eucharist, or Holy Communion. On Tuesdays, Tai Chi classes are held at 5:30 PM. There will be no July meeting of Daughters of the King.

VBS at First Baptist

A part of Palestine for 158 Years, First Baptist Church of Palestine, is a sanctuary of hope and a source of strength. Our local ministries include the Basics of Life Storehouse and the monthly Angel Food Ministries distribution. Globally, we are also on mission in the West Bank of Israel and Ethiopia. July 3 a group of nine FBCP members leaves for Ramallah, West Bank where they will work with our partner church to conduct a Bible Camp for sixty children. The group will return July 15. Angel Food Distribution is this Saturday, June 27, from 7am-10am. 

Who Do You Say That I AM?  I am….. Vacation Bible School will be held from June 29-July 2 from 6pm – 8:45 pm, for children that have completed Kindergarten thru 6th grade.  Children will virtually travel back in time to first century Jerusalem and visit the marketplace. As they travel in groups from booth to booth they will be engaged in scripture studies and craft times. Children will get into the Word of God and the Word of God will get into them.

Sunday, Bible Studies for all ages begins at 9:30am.   Our Morning Worship Gathering begins at 10:45. Pastor Jay Abernathy will continue his Life series on the Life Values, with the sermon “Life- Gate” regarding the struggle for Life and Family Values.   Sunday evening will begin with a VBS meeting at 5pm and our Evening Gathering at 6pm.  Monday our VBS begins.   Tuesday, Senior Game Time at 1pm.  Wednesday, there will be no evening Bible studies or children’s activities due to VBS.





PCN Summer Events

Palestine Church of the Nazarene pastor’s Daniel and Debra Smith report that a great summer of church activities is underway. Eleven of PCN’s kids just returned from Nazarene Children’s Camp in Scottsville where they enjoyed a great week. Teen Camp at Scottsville begins July 20th thru 24th. Nazarene missionary Santosh Gondardive, of Pule, India was part of our worship service last Sunday.



Daniel and Debra and family will leave for Nazarene General Assembly in Orlando this week. Nazarenes world-wide gather for General Assemble every four years. The Smith’s daughter Brooke will participate in World Quizzing while at General Assembly. World Quizzing is a bible knowledge competition somewhat comparable to baseball’s World Series, reports pastor Debra White Smith. You start at Zone and then District levels, with lots of fun and hard work between there and qualifying for World Quiz. I am extremely proud of all of our Quiz Kid’s reports Debra.



This Sunday, June 28th at PCN, instrumentalist Ray Lively and Ronny McCoy will open the morning worship at 10:45 for Miles Pike, who will be the featured singer and speaker at morning worship. Miles is a superb gospel singer with a five octave range. His low lows and high high’s make Miles a unique talent.  This exciting presentation will be narrated by Dr. Tommy Wallis.  There will also be many soloist and our special guests will be the "Tommy Wallis Vocal Band."  Childcare will be provided during the service.

Walston Springs B. C. Homecoming Set

   Walston Springs Baptist Church will celebrate it's 118th anniversary with a homecoming beginning at 10:30 a.m. on Sunday June 28th.

    Southern Joy, a Southern Gospel quartet, from Corsicana will be singing in the morning service and will be in concert beginning at 1:30 p.m.

    Former pastor Bro. Bill Sheffield will be preaching the morning message.

A covered dish lunch will be served at noon.

    The theme of this homecoming is 'Old Fashion'. Everyone who wishes may dress in clothing of yesteryear.

    Everyone is invited to come and help us celebrate this very special ocassion.

    The church is located on F.M. 2419 approximately 1 mile off US 287/State Hwy. 19 South.

The Foster Cemetery association will hold it's 13th annual Memorial Service Sunday at  Jasper Baptist Church. Service will began at 3: O'clock P. M.

 Guest Speaker for this service will be Rev. R. C.  Emanuel, he is the Pastor of  Pilgrim Rest Community Church in Oakwood, TX and the Bethel A. M. E. Methodist Church in Corsicana, TX.

 Each Family Member is ask for a donation of $30.00 to help with the upkeep of the Foster Cemetery.

First United Methodist Church of Elkhart

The youth are safely back from Big House Mission Trip.  We appreciate their willingness to take time out of their summer schedule and help others.

 Sunday, June 28th immediately following worship service the "Golden Ages" Luncheon where our Senior Citizens will be honored.  The Golden Ages members range from 75 years and over.  Contact Fellowship Team Leader Bennie Swartz @ 903 764-1811 and let her know where you will be willing to help out and make this memorable occasion a success.  We will hear stories never before heard as they tell of of their milestones throughout their lives.

 Choir Camp will be June 29 - July 3 at Lakeview Methodist Conference Center for children going into the third grade, youth and adults.  You can stay at LMCC or commute from your home.  Please contact Mr. Or Mrs. Ron Bost if you are interested in attending this time of great fellowship and learning opportunity.

Thursday's Crafting Banners for the glory of God Group begin on Thursday, July 2 @ 3:00 PM.  This is a new group and your creativity is what they are looking forward to seeing.   So, please plan to attend this class and bring your ideas, scrap material, ribbons, paints ... Or whatever you might have to make great banners.  They will be hung from the top of the walls in the sanctuary.  Between 12 - 16 small banners are needed so there is plenty of room for you to fit in and make a difference.   You don't have to be crafty or talented....there are other ways to participate.  This is a great opportunity to get to know the other ladies of the church on a more personal level.  Come  join in because you won't want to miss out on this fun time of fellowship.

Vacation Bible School's Camp E.D.G.E. (Experience & Discover God Everywhere) is rapidly upon us.  The dates are Sunday July 19 - Thursday 23  with a light supper at 5:30 PM  and sessions beginning at 6:00 PM ending at 8:30 PM each evening.   VBS is our churches largest outreach for children in our community who may not have a church family.    As always help is needed with this extremely rewarding opportunity to teach our next generation the love of God.    So please contact the church office or Jan Stuteville at 903 764-2347. 

 The churches Annual Trade Days is going to be held Friday, July 31 - August 1st.   Vendors Outside space is selling fast.  You can either rent space  with or without electricity. Those spaces are limited so contact the church office (903)764-2347 or Kaye Carmona (903) 764-8145 for information on purchasing space for this  event at your earliest convenience.  Vendors come from all over Texas to set up for this Trades Day and there is everything imaginable for sale.

In addition there is an inside church garage sale and hamburgers will once again be sold by the church members.  So make plans to attend this sale.  The Trades Day is located across the Elkhart Elementary School in the church park area.        



First Baptist Church of Slocum, located at 5875 E. St. Hwy 294 meets at 10:00 a.m. for Sunday School, followed by worship services at 11:00 a.m. and again at 6:30 p.m., with classes for all ages.  Wednesday bible study meets at 6:30 p.m. The

youth and children will also meet at this time.

The pastor Reverend John Day issues an open invitation to anyone who is seeking a friendly, caring church home.





Slocum First Baptist Church will hold their Vacation Bible School on June 29th thru July 3rd., from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. each evening. The group CLEAR will be conducting the Bible School. This years theme is "Going Global". The church is located on highway 294 in Slocum.
