Montalba Christian

schedule slated

The evangelism team at Montalba Christian Church will meet at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday.

The Rev. Craig Harris continues his sermon series on the book Job on Sundays at 11 a.m.

"One of the biggest questions we have is why God allows the righteous to suffer," Harris said. "The Bible has answers and many of them are found in Job."

The adult Bible study is on the book Ephesians on Wednesday nights at 6 p.m. Everyone is invited and child-care is provided at all services.

West Union Baptist Church will hold a car wash from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday to benefit the youth department.

Broyles Chapel

This evening at 6:30 p.m. is the regular monthly dominoes night for Broyles Chapel Baptist Church. The game is held in the church fellowship hall . Ladies night out will be held at Gay Maddolin’s home in Oakwood beginning at 6:30 p.m. Ladies that will be attending will need to meet at the church at 5:30 p.m. in order to make driving arrangements.

Bible study classes for all ages begins at 9:45 a.m. on Sunday followed by worship at 11 a.m. The training session “Sharing Jesus Without Fear” will be held at 5 p.m. This session is lead by Terry Nied. The regular monthly business meeting will begin at 6:30 p.m. followed by adult choir practice at 7:30 p.m.

The next training session will be held at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday. The sessions will alternate between Sundays and Wednesdays. See Terry Nied for more details.

The Hospitality House weekend for Broyles Chapel will be July 17-18. If you would like to be a part of this ministry, see Joe Blaha. He has details on where you are needed and which days.

Mt. Vernon African Methodist Episcopal Church will host the Tyler District Worship. PCN garage

sale Saturday

A huge garage sale and car wash will be held starting at 8 a.m. Saturday in the church parking lot at Palestine Church of the Nazarene. All proceeds of the event will be used to send PCN teens to church camp in Scottsville later this month.

Co-pastor Debra White Smith will be preaching this Sunday at PCN. Debra and her husband Daniel are co-pastors at PCN, and preach on alternate Sundays. Vacation Bible School was a huge success and it could not have been done without the help from everyone at First Presbyterian, First Christian and Grace United Methodist churches.  

“Thank you all so very much for all of your hard work while sharing God's word with our community,” a church news release said.    

The Men's Reunion Prayer group will meet from 6:30 to 7:30 a.m. Monday at Whataburger.

The Women's Reunion Prayer group will be meeting on Tuesday from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. at Grace UMC, 1918 E. Murchison St.

Wednesday evenings at Grace is taking the summer off. Wednesday evenings will start back up after Labor Day on Sept. 9. 

The next game night at Grace will be at 6 p.m. July 19 at Grace. Bring a snack and invite a friend or neighbor to come with you to enjoy an evening of fun and fellowship. Let the church office (903-723-6143) know if you are able to attend so we will know how many to prepare for.

Sunday is the Sixth Sunday after Pentecost with Mark 6:14-29 as the appointed Gospel. Traditional Episcopal services are celebrated with Morning Prayer at 7:30 AM and Holy Eucharist at 10 a.m. The celebrant at 10 a.m. is the RRev. Dorothy Grimillion. A midweek Evening Prayer worship service is celebrated on Wednesdays at 5:30 p.m.

The ingathering of The United Thank Offering, an offering that supports missionaries and missionary work, is scheduled for Sunday July 12. Women of the church are requested to pick up related supplies from the church office.

St. Philip's offers weekly programs to which everyone is invited. Car wash set

at Cornerstone

The Solid Rock Youth Group from Cornerstone Worship Center will hold a Car Wash from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the Dairy Queen. All proceeds will go to the youth rally in august at th civic center.  

Dash for Cash is this Sunday and Carl get a pie in the face from his wife Ginger for the boys losing two out of three rounds.  The money raised in dash for cash goes to the childrens ministry for their parties, VBS,etc. The participatants are Chris Comstock and Stephanie Comstock. 

Ladies conference will start at 7 p.m. July 17. The doors will open at 6 p.m.  All local church are encouraged to call ahead for reserved seating at no charge, due to the high volume of calling the chrch is receiving this week. Pastors’ wives are encouraged to come and be honored at the luncheon at noon July 18 during a break from the workshops. Aaron and Amanda Crabb will be there in concert and preaching.

Sunday services are at 10:30 a.m. and Wednesday services are at 7 p.m. Nursery provided both services. There are children’s programs and everyone has a opportunity to get involved.

The Carpenter House pre-teens that returned from camp in Weatherford last week reported a fun time. Thanks to those helping with camp fees this year.

Evening worship starts at 6 p.m. and Wednesdays are at 7 p.m. with brief worship and classes to follow for each age.
