Montalba Christian

schedule slated

The evangelism team at Montalba Christian Church will meet at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday.

The Rev. Craig Harris continues his sermon series on the book Job on Sundays at 11 a.m.

"One of the biggest questions we have is why God allows the righteous to suffer," Harris said. "The Bible has answers and many of them are found in Job."

The adult Bible study is on the book Ephesians on Wednesday nights at 6 p.m. Everyone is invited and child-care is provided at all services.



Car wash

set Saturday

West Union Baptist Church will hold a car wash from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday to benefit the youth department.

Tennessee Colony

repairs continue

Repairs, scraping and painting continue this week at Tennessee Colony Church as the facia and soffet are made new. Workers should be putting on the finishing touches by today. Come by and check it out on Sunday morning.

Regular business meeting will be held at 6 p.m. Sunday and all members are encouraged to attend.

Broyles Chapel

activities slated

This evening at 6:30 p.m. is the regular monthly dominoes night for Broyles Chapel Baptist Church. The game is held in the church fellowship hall . Ladies night out will be held at Gay Maddolin’s home in Oakwood beginning at 6:30 p.m. Ladies that will be attending will need to meet at the church at 5:30 p.m. in order to make driving arrangements.

Bible study classes for all ages begins at 9:45 a.m. on Sunday followed by worship at 11 a.m. The training session “Sharing Jesus Without Fear” will be held at 5 p.m. This session is lead by Terry Nied. The regular monthly business meeting will begin at 6:30 p.m. followed by adult choir practice at 7:30 p.m.

The next training session will be held at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday. The sessions will alternate between Sundays and Wednesdays. See Terry Nied for more details.

The Hospitality House weekend for Broyles Chapel will be July 17-18. If you would like to be a part of this ministry, see Joe Blaha. He has details on where you are needed and which days.

The budget committee will meet at 10:30 a.m. July 18 at the church.

Wednesday prayer drive continues at 6:30 p.m. Bert Duerer’s team meets at 6 p.m. The teams meet at the church before going out into the community.

Celebrate Recovery at New Life Community Church is held each Friday from 6 to 9 p.m. Celebrate Recovery addresses all your hurts, habits and hang-ups, not just alcohol and chemical addictions. The WMU ladies of Long Lake Baptist Church will meet Tuesday at the home of Mildred Moseley for its regular monthly mission study. The ladies will meet at 10:30 a.m.

Study continues

at FBC Neches

The Rev. Nathan McBride, church pastor of First Baptist Church Neches, will continue his study in Psalms on Wednesday evenings.

A Purity Study for grades third through sixth and Hilltop Singers still meet at 7 p .m. on Wednesdays.

A car wash will start at 10 a.m. Saturday to help pre-teens for camp.

A church leadership meeting will be held following the evening services this Sunday.

Coffee with the pastor is held at 10 a.m. on Mondays.

Mt. Vernon African Methodist Episcopal Church will host the Tyler District Worship. Church school scripture is in Deuteronomy 16:1-8 wherein the nation was given specifics for the first festival after their escape from Egypt, thus evolved lesson topic, “Remembering and Celebrating.” The classes will meet for discussion at 9:45 a.m.

The 11 a.m. praise and worship will be officiated by the Rev. Theresa Hamilton, will introduce the guest pastor, the Rev. Marques Cameron of Dallas, speaker for the morning worship service.

The Wednesday meetings are canceled.

Mt. Vernon and Grant Chapel churches are hosting the July 9-12 Youth Summit, which began Thursday at Grant Chapel at 5:45 p.m. The 6:50 p.m. worship service will be led by Ricky and Felecia Johnson, the Rev. Marvin Hollie is the guest speaker for Thursday, the Rev. R.L. Marshall is Friday evening’s speaker. On Saturday, the pastors, members and guests will gather at noon for a Tyler District wide service in the Mt. Vernon Sanctuary. A meal will be served. Services planned

at Grace Bible

Sunday services begin at 11 a.m. and are held at 1020 W. Hamlett St. (old Washington School). The informal service includes contemporary music and practical, expository teaching by Dr. Dan Gold.  A nursery is provided for infants and toddlers through 4 years of age.  The fellowship lunch will not be held during July.  The lunch schedule will resume on Aug. 2.

Children’s Summer Sunday School and the Adult Apologetics class will not meet during the month of July.  Both will resume Aug. 2. 

The youth guys continue to meet on Sundays from 6 to 8 p.m. at the church. Robert Moore, Minister to Youth, leads this Bible study.

PCN garage

sale Saturday

A huge garage sale and car wash will be held starting at 8 a.m. Saturday in the church parking lot at Palestine Church of the Nazarene. All proceeds of the event will be used to send PCN teens to church camp in Scottsville later this month.

Co-pastor Debra White Smith will be preaching this Sunday at PCN. Debra and her husband Daniel are co-pastors at PCN, and preach on alternate Sundays. Worship service starts at 10:45 a.m. Sunday School begins at 9:45 a.m. with classes for all ages. Sunday and Wednesday night services begin at 6 p.m.

The Youth of WBC will have a Movie Night Friday from 6 to 10:30 p.m. They will leave for Journey Camp at Highland Lakes Retreat Center in Spicewood at 8:30 a.m. Monday.

A reception will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday to honor former pastor Robert Rachuig and Jim Mixon, former Music Min. 

 The Senior Adult Third Thursday Luncheon and Games will be at noon Thursday. All seniors are invited for a pot luck lunch and lots of fellowship. 

The Women of Westwood will have their monthly Salad Supper at 6 p.m. July 17. Diane Terry will give her testimony from China.

The monthly Men's Prayer Breakfast will be held at 8 a.m. July 17. Todd White, pastor of Norwood Heights Baptist Church, will be the guest speaker.

Vacation Bible School was a huge success and it could not have been done without the help from everyone at First Presbyterian, First Christian and Grace United Methodist churches.  

“Thank you all so very much for all of your hard work while sharing God's word with our community,” a church news release said.    

The Men's Reunion Prayer group will meet from 6:30 to 7:30 a.m. Monday at Whataburger.

The Women's Reunion Prayer group will be meeting on Tuesday from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. at Grace UMC, 1918 E. Murchison St.

Wednesday evenings at Grace is taking the summer off. Wednesday evenings will start back up after Labor Day on Sept. 9. 

The next game night at Grace will be at 6 p.m. July 19 at Grace. Bring a snack and invite a friend or neighbor to come with you to enjoy an evening of fun and fellowship. Let the church office (903-723-6143) know if you are able to attend so we will know how many to prepare for.

OAKWOOD — The Miracle Church, located at 1544 W. Broad St. (U.S. 79) in Oakwood, would like to invite the public to attend a one-night revival at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday. This event will be pastored by a special international evangelist.

Sunday is the Sixth Sunday after Pentecost with Mark 6:14-29 as the appointed Gospel. Traditional Episcopal services are celebrated with Morning Prayer at 7:30 AM and Holy Eucharist at 10 a.m. The celebrant at 10 a.m. is the RRev. Dorothy Grimillion. A midweek Evening Prayer worship service is celebrated on Wednesdays at 5:30 p.m.

The ingathering of The United Thank Offering, an offering that supports missionaries and missionary work, is scheduled for Sunday July 12. Women of the church are requested to pick up related supplies from the church office.

A course on Beth Moore's Bible study, Esther: It's Tough Being a Woman, continues on Tuesdays through Aug. 4 at 9:30 a.m. Please call 903-729-4214 for details.

St. Philip's offers weekly programs to which everyone is invited. A Bible study class is offered on Wednesdays at 10 a.m. The Wednesday morning Bible Study group continues an ongoing study of the Scriptural roots of the Eucharist, or Holy Communion. Car wash set

at Cornerstone

The Solid Rock Youth Group from Cornerstone Worship Center will hold a Car Wash from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the Dairy Queen. All proceeds will go to the youth rally in august at th civic center.  

Dash for Cash is this Sunday and Carl get a pie in the face from his wife Ginger for the boys losing two out of three rounds.  The money raised in dash for cash goes to the childrens ministry for their parties, VBS,etc. The participatants are Chris Comstock and Stephanie Comstock. 

Ladies conference will start at 7 p.m. July 17. The doors will open at 6 p.m.  All local church are encouraged to call ahead for reserved seating at no charge, due to the high volume of calling the chrch is receiving this week. Pastors’ wives are encouraged to come and be honored at the luncheon at noon July 18 during a break from the workshops. Aaron and Amanda Crabb will be there in concert and preaching.

Sunday services are at 10:30 a.m. and Wednesday services are at 7 p.m. Nursery provided both services. There are children’s programs and everyone has a opportunity to get involved.

The Carpenter House pre-teens that returned from camp in Weatherford last week reported a fun time. Thanks to those helping with camp fees this year.

TCH services start on Sunday morning at 9:30 a.m. with classes for each age, followed by worship at 10:30 a.m.

Evening worship starts at 6 p.m. and Wednesdays are at 7 p.m. with brief worship and classes to follow for each age.

Senior Christians enjoy a fun and fellowship time every other month on the second Saturday of the month. The Ladies Ministry, Sisters of Hope, meet on the alternating months ,on Friday evenings at 6:30 p.m. Every last Sunday evening of each month, the group enjoys food and fellowship after service.
