Hasty-Bedre wedding

— Megan Hasty and Barry Bedre of Palestine were married May 18 at First Presbyterian Church of Palestine.

The Rev. “Doug” Blanton of Frankston read vows before an altar decorated with black candelabras and flower arrangements of different shades of pink and green.

Parents of the bride are Don and Annette Jones of Palestine, and Harold and Shirlene Hasty of Corrigan. Grandparents of the bride are Harold and Mary Alice Gilbert of Palestine, and the late Clifton and Lena Hasty of Palestine.

Parents of the groom are H.E. “Scooter” and Linda Bedre of Palestine. Grandparents of the groom are Russell and Doris Turbyfill of Palestine, and the late Ed and Pearl Bedre of Palestine.

Escorted by the groom, the bride wore a long A-line white strapless gown with pink flowers embroidered on the top and train. The flower design was accented with pearl beading.

The bride carried a bouquet of fresh gerbera daisies in all shades of pink with white calla lilies wrapped in white ribbon and pearls.

Attending the bride was Heather Boyd Garza, friend of the bride, of Palestine

Bridesmaids were Lori Johnson, sister of the groom, and Grace Johnson, niece of the groom, of Lufkin.

Attendants wore black knee-length satin dresses. Each had a different style. They carried small bouquets of gerbera daisies wrapped in hot pink ribbon.

Flower girl was Lexie Johnson, niece of the groom, of Lufkin.

Ring bearer was Angus “Gus” Bedre of Palestine (pictured with the bride and groom).

Best man was Richard Farris Jr., friend of the bride and groom, of Palestine.

Groomsmen were Woody Johnson, brother-in-law of the groom, of Lufkin and Billy Johnson, friend of the groom, of Palestine.

Ushers were Craig Anderson, friend of the groom, of Palestine, Charles Ray Evans, friend of bride's family, of Manvel, Jon Graham, friend of the groom, of Palestine, and Donnie McMahan, friend of the groom, of Palestine.

Providing music were organists Aaron Jackson and Kathleen Brown, both of Palestine.

The reception was hosted by the bride and groom at Palestine Senior Activity Center.

Following their wedding trip to Jamaica, the couple currently resides in Palestine.
