A 33-year-old Palestine man already in the Anderson County Jail on multiple felony charges has been arrested on additional charges, including three counts of theft of a firearm.
Robert David Mobley, 33, of Palestine was arrested Nov. 13 at his residence in the 8500 block of FM 2419 and charged with theft between $1,500 and $20,000; manufacture/delivery of a controlled substance 4-to-200 grams; and engaging in organized criminal activity, authorities have said.
Two other persons were arrested on the same day in connection with the same alleged offenses.
Since his arrest, Mobley has remained in the Anderson County Jail in lieu of bonds totaling $300,000.
At the time of Mobley’s mid-November arrest, authorities have said they discovered a black nylon bag on the suspect’s roof, including approximately 26 grams of “a crystal type substance” field testing positive for crystal methamphetamine.
At the time, Mobley, who had $749 cash on his person according to authorities, was also arrested on a theft charge for allegedly stealing a four-wheeler parked outside his residence.
Authorities have said numerous firearms, assorted ammunition and other items believed to be stolen were also recovered at the time of the arrests.
On Friday, Anderson County Sheriff Greg Taylor told the Herald-Press that Mobley had been arrested on additional charges, including three counts of theft of a firearm; theft between $50 and $500; and theft between $1,500 and $20,000.
“These are additional charges we have filed against him,” Taylor said.
The firearms were allegedly stolen from two separate residences in August and November of last year, while one of the theft charges is related to a laptop computer reported stolen from a residence on Texas 294 on Nov. 10, according to the sheriff.
The higher valued theft charge stems from a four-wheeler stolen from a residence on FM 320 this past September, Taylor added.
As of Friday afternoon, bonds had not been set on Mobley’s newest charges, according to the sheriff.
