Commissioners to consider ‘junk dirt’ disposal contracts

Anderson County commissioners will consider contracts with three county residents to dispose of “junk dirt” in precinct 3 during Monday’s regular commissioners court meeting.
The meeting is scheduled to begin at 9:30 a.m. Monday in the county courtroom of the Anderson County Courthouse Annex on N. Mallard Street.
Commissioners and Anderson County Judge Linda Bostick Ray are scheduled to hear presentations from precinct 3 commissioner Ronny Smith concerning possibly contracting with Billy Bateman, Kenneth Flowers and Joe Ellis to dispose of “junk dirt” and other non-useable material retrieved from Anderson County roads and right-of-ways.
Also, the commissioners are expected to:
• CONSIDER budget amendments;
• CONSIDER approving payroll/bills;
• APPROVE utilities crossing county roads;
• CONSIDER appointing Millye Bailey and Kay Watkins to the ACCESS Board of Trustees and take action as necessary;
• DISCUSS the Anderson County Jail inmate phone service and authorize Anderson County auditor Stan Chambers to take bids and action as necessary;
• HEAR from precinct 3 commissioner Ronny Smith to consider authorizing the Anderson County Auditor’s office to go out for bids on furnishing compact bins and disposal of trash at the Anderson County Transfer Station and take action as necessary;
• HEAR from precinct 4 commissioner Randy Watkins to consider accepting a petition from residents off ACR 412 to add a currently unnumbered private road into the Precinct 4 Road and Bridge system as ACR 4121 and take action as necessary.
