Crime scene expert to speak to Tyler writers' group

The Palestine Herald

Smith County Sheriff detective Noel Martin, an expert at crime scene reconstruction, will be the guest speaker at the Romance Writers of America — East Texas Chapter meeting on Saturday.

The meeting will be held at the group’s new meeting location at Atria Willow Park (conference room inside an assisted living facility), located at 3500 S. Vine Ave. in Tyler.

The chapter meeting will start at 10 a.m., followed by a potluck lunch at 11 a.m. The presentation will start at noon.

“Martin has spoken to our writing group two previous times about crime scene investigations and it always proves to be an interesting discussion,” chapter president Cheril Vernon said. “He explains the difference between what you see on TV shows and what happens in real life.”

Those interested in writing are invited to attend the meeting. RWA-ETC will assess a $3 charge for non-members for up to three visits.

For more information about the meeting, directions or the other RWA-ETC events, visit the RWA-ETC Web site at www.easttexasrwa.com or call 903-360-1727 or email cherilvernon@yahoo.com
