Early voting is under way in the June 13 runoff between Charles R. McShan and Dale Crane for Place 7 on the Elkhart Independent School District’s Board of Trustees.
Early voting in the EISD race began this past Monday and continues through Tuesday (June 9). EISD voters can cast early ballots from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on weekdays at the district’s administration office.
On Election Day June 13, polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., with voting taking place at the Elkhart Senior Citizens Community Center.
McShan (338 votes) and Crane (293 votes) were the top votegetters in a tight three-way race during the May 9 election which also included Randy Smith (261 votes).
Michael Hampton was elected to Place 6 on the EISD board last month, finishing with 457 votes, compared to 323 for Gary McShan.
Also last month, EISD voters approved a $16 million bond for the construction of a new high school on U.S. 287 by almost a 2-to-1 margin.
