County to consider adding storage facility

An Anderson County commissioner is expected to address the commissioners’ court during Monday’s regular meeting in regards to a storage facility for the county.

The meeting is set to begin at 9:30 a.m. in the County Courtroom of the Anderson County Courthouse Annex.

After hearing reports from multiple county officials, Precinct 3 Commissioner Kenneth Dickson is expected to present information relating to a potential site for a county storage facility.

At a May 26 meeting, commissioners talked about the county’s growing storage problems, discussing potential short-term and long-term solutions.

The court is also expected on Monday to:

• CONSIDER budget amendments.

• CONSIDER approving payroll and bills.

• CONSIDER utilities crossing county roads.

• HEAR from Aneshia Bridges on presentation of the 2010 Violence Against Women Act (VAWA) grant resolution and take action as necessary.

• CONSIDER appointment of Susan Johnson to the ACCESS Board of Trustees and take action as necessary.

• HEAR from Donald Hammock, Crisis Center of Anderson and Cherokee Counties, in regards to county funding for 2010 budget and take action as necessary.

• HEAR from Mike Dennis, Frankston Depot Library and Frankston Museum, in regards to county funding for 2010 budget and take action as necessary.

• HEAR from Lois F. Durant, Meals on Wheels, in regards to county funding for 2010 budget and take action as necessary.

• HEAR from Allyn Lang, ACCESS, in regards to county funding for 2010 budget and take action as necessary.

• HEAR from Kathi Masonheimer, Palestine Area Chamber of Commerce, in regards to county funding and take action as necessary.

• AUTHORIZE county auditor to go out for bids on county property at 811 N. Mallard St. and take action as necessary.

• HEAR from Sheriff Greg Taylor to review the contract with Houston County to house their inmates and take action as necessary.
