Man indicted for ramming woman’s car

PALESTINE A 36-year-old Palestine man who allegedly used his vehicle to make contact with another person’s vehicle has been indicted by an Anderson County grand jury.

Earlier this month, Horatio Olvera, 36, of Palestine was indicted on two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, stemming from an incident on the night of June 28, 2007 during which he allegedly used his Ford Expedition to hit a passenger car operated by a local woman, according to Stanley Sokolowski, assistant district attorney for Anderson County.

Olvera and the alleged female victim had been involved in some sort of dispute involving a vehicle she had purchased from him, according to a Palestine police report.

“She (the victim) noticed that he started following her (in his vehicle) and then struck her car with his car,” said Sokolowski, adding the incident allegedly occurred in the 1400 block of West Palestine Avenue around 8:45 p.m. on June 28, 2007.

There were a total of four people in the victim’s car at the time of the alleged incident, but no one was injured, according to the report.

Assault of a Public Servant
James Kevin Walding, 45, Palestine, date of alleged offense, Dec. 21, 2007.

Abandon/Endangering a Child Criminal Negligence
Jamison Leon Rogers, 29, Palestine, date of alleged offense, Nov. 21, 2006 (two counts).

Evading Arrest/Detention with a Vehicle
Chad Belyeu, 29, Athens, date of alleged offense, Nov. 24, 2006.

Possession of a Controlled Substance 1-to-4 Grams
Christina Jeann Gothard, 36, Buffalo, date of alleged offense, April 7, 2007.

Possession of a Controlled Substance Less Than 1 Gram
Paul Patterson, 40, Palestine, date of alleged offense, March 14, 2007.
Juan Raymundo Reyes, 34, Palestine, date of alleged offense, Feb. 12, 2008.
Marvin Lee Dixon, 25, Palestine, date of alleged offense, Feb. 1, 2008.
Royrick Vaughn Cook, 38, Palestine, date of alleged offense, Jan. 20, 2008.
