Boil order lifted for Elkhart

— The City of Elkhart has received a report on the city’s water samples stating that the water is safe for consumption, according to a news release from the City of Elkhart.
Therefore, the order to boil water prior to consumption has been lifted.
The City of Elkhart issued the boil water notice on Sunday due to difficulties in maintaining sufficient water pressure due to numerous water leaks in the system which are in the process of being repaired, according to a news release.
The cause for the referenced leaks was due to the extreme dry conditions that are being experienced in the area, the news release said. Dry grounds shift causing breaks in water lines.
