Cell phone collection drive to help soldiers

More than 150,000 troops are serving overseas and are away from their families. Cell Phones for Soldiers and Palestine Resource Center are calling on all Americans to support our brave men and women by donating their unused cell phones.

Cell Phones for Soldiers hopes to collect over 50,000 cell phones to help keep troops connected with their families. The goal is to provide every US soldier with a way to call home for free.

The phones are sent to ReCellular and recycled for cash. ReCellular pays Cell Phones for Soldiers enough for each donated phone to provide an hour of talk time for our soldiers serving in the Middle East.

Palestine and surrounding area residents can support the collection drive by dropping off phones at PRCIL, 421 Avenue A, Palestine.

For more information, call PRCIL at 903-729-7505 or long distance at 1-888-326-5166.
