Texas ‘folk rock’ band to perform tonight

PALESTINE —
Considered a “folk rock” band, Charlie Shafter & The Gnomes, will play a show in Palestine Saturday night at the Iron Horse Sports Bar.
The band, which is booked all across Texas from Austin, Houston, San Antonio, Gruene to Fort Worth, consists of Charlie Shafter, vocals and guitar; Joel Dreistadt, drums and percussion; Clayton Freeman, bass and backing vocals; and Adam Cline, guitars and backing vocals.
Shafter is originally from Illinois, but currently resides in Lubbock. He is the brother-in-law of Matt Martindale from Cooder Graw.
Charlie Shafter & The Gnomes recently released their second album "17th & Chicago," produced by Billy Harvey (Bob Schneider, Steve Poltz, Trish Murphy) in Austin.
Their first single "Big City Baby," currently at No. 26, has been climbing the Texas Music Chart and will soon be breaking on to the Americana Chart.
