The Palestine Herald

The Texas State Railroad is looking for volunteers during its Day Out With Thomas™ event, scheduled at the Rusk Depot on Oct. 17-19 and 24-26.

Volunteers are needed for the Imagination Station, gold dig, bounce houses, temporary tattoos, photo line, retail, bubble station, Sir Topham Hatt, hayride, information booth and more.

Temporary employees also are being hired to work during the 6-day event; and volunteer balloon animal artists are needed as well.

Those who are interested are asked to attend one of two volunteer orientation events taking place at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Texas State Railroad Rusk Depot Theatre and at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Palestine Public Library.

Those who have any questions regarding the volunteer orientation or becoming a temporary employee, contact Holly George at 903-683-2563. Call TSRR Marketing Manager Lori Kastrop at 903-683-3087 to volunteer as a balloon artist.

As of Oct. 8, over 6,000 tickets have been sold for Day Out With Thomas™, and continue to go fast. Visit www.TexasStateRR.com.
