Ladies Night Out shopping event planned Tuesday

PALESTINE A Ladies Night Out holiday shopping event is planned Tuesday at the Museum for East Texas Culture.

“It’s a night of fun for women who want to celebrate the holiday season, shop for Christmas and pamper themselves while shopping locally,” said organizer Christi Woolverton.

The event will be held from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the museum, located at 400 Micheaux Ave. behind Reagan Park.

The Ladies Night Out organizers also will accept donations of money, non-perishable food and new toys for St. Vincent de Paul Food Pantry, a local food bank housed at Sacred Heart Catholic Church.

“We want everyone who attends to bring something to donate to St. Vincent de Paul,” Woolverton said. “They are in great need right now. Because of the economy, they are serving more people. We as a community need to do what we can to help.”

Besides collecting donations for St. Vincent de Paul, a portion of proceeds from the evening will go back to the charity, Woolverton said.

The Ladies Night Out will feature refreshments and door prizes, as well a wine tasting by Sweet Dreams Winery and $1 chair massages from B’s Hive of Therapy Day Spa.

Sugarfoot Children’s Clothing & Gifts will offer a variety of items including decor for children’s rooms, crosses, bows and more. Susie’s Sweets will offer gourmet treats. Other items for sale will include makeup, jewelry, handbags, home decor, soy candles, photography, children’s clothing and accessories.

“I’ve been to other Ladies Night Out events that have been a lot of fun,” Woolverton said. “This is our first year. If it does well, we may make it an annual event.”
