Time leading up to Christmas can make for a hectic 24 hours, if you're not as organized as a certain citizen from the North Pole. But not to worry! The Herald-Press staff has put together the following countdown for the good people of Anderson County.
6 a.m. – Wake up.
6:05 a.m. – Just kidding. Go back to sleep, you Grinch.
7 a.m. – Wake up. Allow heart to grow three sizes.
7:10 a.m. – Put on something red and green. Bonus points for jingle bells.
7:15 a.m. – Greet world. Make coffee. Wish house a merry Christmas Eve.
7:30 a.m. – Eat breakfast.
8 a.m.-10:30 a.m. – Turn on Christmas music. Wrap presents.
10:40 a.m. – Eat a candy cane. Think happy thoughts.
11:05 a.m. – Hide presents.
11:30 a.m. – Eat lunch.
Noon – Give a loved one a candy cane.
12:20 p.m. Dance to Christmas music. Think happy thoughts.
1 p.m. – Bake cookies for Santa, set to cool.
1:47 p.m. – Make hot chocolate. Pray for snow. Dance some more! (optional)
2 p.m. – Sit down and think happy thoughts.
2:15 p.m. – Wrap up last-minute Christmas shopping.
3:24 p.m. – Give a stranger a candy cane. Bonus points for three.
3:45 p.m. – Wrap last-minute gifts.
4 p.m. – Rush to the grocery store for anything you forgot, like egg nog and cinnamon.
5 p.m. – Eat dinner.
6 p.m. – Go to Christmas Eve service.
7:30 p.m. – Go caroling.
8:30 p.m. – Read the Nativity Story.
9:15 p.m. – Drive around and look at Christmas lights.
10:00 p.m. – Read Twas the Night Before Christmas.
10:30- p.m. – Put the kids to bed.
11 p.m. – Kiss someone under the mistletoe.
1 a.m. – Eat cookies for Santa.
