Citizens National Bank’s acquisition of East Texas National Bank finalized

PALESTINE — Citizens National Bank’s acquisition of East Texas National Bank has been finalized, according to CNB President and CEO Brad Tidwell.

ETNB is headquartered in Palestine with branches in Huntsville (American Bank) and Mexia (First Mexia Bank). This transaction was previously approved by the boards of both CNB and ETNB and has received regulatory approval.  

“This has been an exciting time of growth for Citizens National Bank and we are proud to have acquired such an outstanding bank. Our plan is to continue with the excellent service the officers and employees of East Texas National Bank have offered for many years.” Tidwell said. “This acquisition gives CNB a tremendous opportunity to continue to expand our presence and better serve our customers into deep East Texas and Central Texas.”   

East Texas National Bank in Palestine and its branches in Huntsville and Mexia will continue to operate under their present name until the official conversion in late September when the Citizens National Bank signs will be put in place.

Citizens National Bank is a locally owned, independent, Texas community bank headquartered in Henderson and has been serving the families and businesses of East Texas since 1930.   

Citizens National Bank, combined with East Texas National Bank will have assets of $1.2 billion with 24 locations across East and Central Texas. CNB additionally has over $370 million in assets under management in their Trust Department.
