The magic of Christmas will come alive for the Anderson County Champions for Children’s ninth annual Polar Express™.
Tickets are now on sale for the event, scheduled Nov. 16-18 at the Texas State Railroad’s Palestine Depot.
“We hope that this year is bigger and grander than ever because ‘the bell still rings for me as it does for all who truly believe,’” Champions for Children Director Joan Strominger said.
Funds raised will support the services offered by Anderson County Champions for Children.
“The quality of early childhood education in our community and neighboring counties is enhanced and improved for children, families and childcare givers though the efforts of our organization,” Strominger said.
Passengers will board the train at 5 p.m. and the train will depart for the North Pole at 5:15 p.m. Those participating should plan on arriving one hour early for parking.
Ticket prices are $20 for children 2-12 years, $40 for 12 years and older, and children under 2 years must be held on lap and travel free. Save $20 with the purchase of a Family Bundle Pack $100, which includes two adult and two children tickets.
A will call window will be set up the days of the event at the Palestine train depot at the Texas State Railroad for participants to pick up their tickets.
For travelers from out-of-town planning on spending the night, contact Champions for Children for a special $50 night at the Hampton Inn on Nov. 17.
