A few more food establishments have been added to the list of the Palestine Area Chamber of Commerce’s Taste of Palestine event on Thursday — bringing the total number of restaurants, wineries and local businesses participating to 17.
“We will have a luau theme, so we encourage everyone who would like to dress Hawaiian or wear a Hawaiian shirt to do so,” Palestine Area Chamber of Commerce Administrative Assistant Kristy Kirkwood said.
A limited number of tickets are available for the event, which will be held from 5 to 7:30 p.m. at the Palestine Mall. Only 300 tickets will be sold for the event and as of 5 p.m. Tuesday, about 100 tickets remained.
The Taste of Palestine is a food and wine tasting event featuring area restaurants, caterers and local wineries who showcase samples from their menus.
Confirmed participants for the Taste of Palestine include: Bishop’s Brisket House, Bon Appetit Coffee Shop & Bakery, Cotton Patch, Dairy Queen, Denny’s, Don Mario’s, El Toro, Granny Muffin Wines, LLC., Mazzio’s Pizza, Red Fire Grille, Texas Vineyard & Smokehaus, Palestine Regional Medical Center, Sweet Dreams Winery, Dogwood Diner, Baby J’s Barbecue & Fish, Fork in the Road and Lakeview Methodist Conference Center.
Smokin’ Country will provide music and Ben E. Keith will provide beverages.
New award categories will be featured this year, including: Best Entrée, Best Dessert, Best Presentation and Best Winery.
Tickets for Taste of Palestine are $15 in advance and $20 at the door with limited tickets available.
