Texas Vineyard & Smokehaus will host is inaugural Easter Egg Hunt for all ages featuring more than 1,000 eggs and prizes on Saturday.
The hunt will start at 1:30 p.m. with required registration starting at 12:30 p.m. Races will be held every 15 minutes.
“We’re going to have about 1,000 eggs and lots of prizes and games. It’s going to be a family event,” Texas Vineyard & Smokehaus owner Rafael Hernandez said Wednesday. “Everyone will be put into three fields by age groups: 0 to 5, 6 to 11, and 12 to 99. We want all ages to participate.”
Grand prize in the 0 to 5 category is a Easter basket with a Nerf™ gun eggs filled with candy and more. Top prize in the 6-11 category will be a filled Easter basket with a remote control car. The prize for the 12 and up category will be a filled Easter basket with a remote-control helicopter.
“We will have lots of games for people to participate in. It should be a lot of fun,” Hernandez said. “We encourage the whole family to participate.”
Every person registered will be guaranteed at least six eggs. Cost is $3 per person or $5 for each family.
Free popcorn will be given away to the children. Other refreshments will be available to purchase.
Texas Vineyard & Smokehaus is located at 2442 CR 2133 in Palestine. One way to arrive at the location is to take FM 1990 from West Oak Street near Denny’s, driving about 5 3/4 mile. The vineyard will be located on the righthand side.
