All Aboard! Polar Express to North Pole starting Nov. 12

PALESTINE — The Texas State Railroad will be heading to the North Pole again for The Polar Express™.

Children of all ages are encouraged to wear their pajamas and board the train for an unforgettable journey on The Polar Express. The train will depart the Texas State Railroad’s Palestine Depot for the North Pole beginning Nov. 12 and continuing through Dec. 27, on select dates.

Inspired by the award winning book by Chris Van Allsburg, this classic holiday favorite comes to life as families take a ride to the North Pole. Once on board the train, hot cocoa and a treat are served as passengers read along with the story.

Santa and his elves board the train at the North Pole and visit each car on the return trip and pass out a special gift to each child.

“Last year we sold over 41,000 tickets and had visitors from 31 states as well as many international visitors,” said Lori Pennington, Texas State Railroad marketing manager. “It is a memorable train ride for families to enjoy.”

Tickets start at $19 for children (ages 2-11) and $34 for adults. Climate controlled upgrades are available. New this year is a private parlor car that can hold groups up to 18 people, and additional first class seating has been added.

Tickets are available online at www.TexasStateRR.com or by calling the reservation office at 1-888-987-2461. For additional information about this special event visit www.polarexpressride.com.
