Anderson County Sheriff's Office seeking burglary suspect

PALESTINE —

The Anderson County Sheriff's Office is seeking leads for a suspect in a burglary of a habitation case that took place near Elkhart earlier this month.

According to reports, ACSO Deputy Lloyd Giles was dispatched to the 100 block of Private Road 6294, located off 294, at about 8 a.m. on Sunday in reference to a burglary of a habitation.

Upon arrival at the scene, Giles made contact with the homeowner, who stated that sometime between May 3 and May 16 an unknown suspect had entered the residence and took numerous items, including several guns, bottles of liquor and DVDs.

As part of the investigation, Giles checked the scene for fingerprints, obtained photos, and obtained a list of stolen items as well as a written statement from the homeowner.

The Anderson County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public's help in finding the suspect in this case. Anyone with information about this burglary is asked to contact Crime Stoppers at 903-729-TIPS (8477).
