A temporary sidewalk and parking space closure will start today in downtown Palestine, according to the City of Palestine Public Works department.
The roof of the structure at 213 W. Main St. and its secondary entrance at 214 W. Oak St. will be rehabilitated. The work is expected to take approximately four days to complete.
During this time, sidewalks and the parking areas immediately in front of these locations will have equipment parked to bring in new materials. The sidewalk will be closed to pedestrians to ensure safety in the construction area. The street will remain open to thru-traffic.
Work is not expected to affect adjacent businesses, and the impact will be as limited as possible.
