The Palestine Area Chamber of Commerce is hosting one of its biggest events of the summer next week — the Taste of Palestine. Fifteen restaurants, wineries and local businesses have signed up to participate — offering items from their menus.
A limited number of tickets are available for the event, which will be held from 5 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the Palestine Mall.
“We have already sold about 150 tickets and have about 150 tickets left,” Palestine Area Chamber of Commerce Administrative Assistant Kristy Kirkwood said. “Bon Appetit in the Palestine Mall also has a few tickets to sell.”
The Taste of Palestine is a food and wine tasting event featuring area restaurants, caterers and local wineries who showcase samples from their menus. This year’s theme will be a luau.
Confirmed participants for the Taste of Palestine include: Bishop’s Brisket House, Bon Appetit Coffee Shop & Bakery, Cotton Patch, Dairy Queen, Denny’s, Don Mario’s, El Toro, Granny Muffin Wines, LLC., Mazzio’s Pizza, Red Fire Grille, Texas Vineyard & Smokehaus, Palestine Regional Medical Center, Sweet Dreams Winery, Dogwood Diner and Baby J’s Barbecue & Fish.
Smokin’ Country will provide music and Ben E. Keith will provide beverages.
There are new award categories this year: Best Entrée, Best Dessert, Best Presentation and Best Winery.
Tickets for Taste of Palestine are $15 in advance and $20 at the door with limited tickets available.
