OUR TOWN: PHS Class of 1964 to hold 50th reunion


It has been half a century since the Palestine High School Class of 1964 graduated, receiving their diplomas and stepping into the world of adulthood.


The PHS Class of 1964 will celebrate that milestone during its 50th reunion on Friday, April 25 and Saturday, April 26 in Palestine.


A Meet-and-Greet will be held at 5 p.m. Friday, April 25 at Ben E. Keith Community Room, located at 2019 W. Oak St. The number of guests at this event is needed for planning.


Beginning at 6 p.m. Saturday, April 26, classmates will gather on the patio of Sabor a Pasion Country House & Bistro for a beverage (bring your own beverage). Dinner will be held at 7 p.m. A tally of guests for this event will need to be turned in to help with the planning. Sabor a Pasion is located at 110 ACR 406. Former classmates are invited to attend the reunion. The price per person is $60.

Massey Lake activities set

The 36th annual Massey Lake Ex-Students School Reunion will be held from 1 to 6 p.m. Saturday at the Massey Lake Community Center.


An Easter egg hunt and a hay ride is planned for kids and adults.


A Easter sunrise service will be held at 7 a.m. Sunday at New Bethel Baptist Church, located at 1929 ACR 2608 in Tennessee Colony. Guest speaker will be the Rev. W.C. Coleman of Dallas. Host pastor is the Rev. Melvin Shead Sr.


Montalba School Reunion

The Montalba School Reunion is scheduled for Saturday, May 3 at the Montalba Community Center.


Everyone is invited even if you did not attend school at Montalba, come and visit,” a news release said.


A barbecue meal will be catered for a fee. Bring your favorite dessert. Ice tea and water will be provided by the local residents.


Registration will begin at 3 p.m., the program will begin at 4 p.m. and the meal will be served at 5:30 p.m. Bring your lawn chairs.
