Reagan Park Spray ground to open Saturday

PALESTINE — The City of Palestine Parks and Recreation Department will kick off the first full season for the Reagan Park Spray Ground with an public opening event this Saturday.

The “Splash Bash” will take place from 10 a.m. to noon at the spray ground, with live music, snow cones, cotton candy and door prizes featured during the free public event.

“Come start the summer off right at the Splash Bash at Reagan Park,” City of Palestine Event Coordinator Heather Hrebec said. “We will have snow cones, DJ Casey Brown playing music and some great door prizes!

“Don’t miss out on a great time and be one of the first to get ‘sprayed!’”

The spray ground will be open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday through Saturday from Memorial Day weekend until Labor Day Weekend. For questions or more information, please call 903-723-2026.

The city’s public pool, the Steven Bennett Aquatic Center, located at the Palestine YMCA on Loop 256, will officially open to the public on Saturday as well.

Public swim times are held from 11:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and 6:30- 8:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday, from noon to 8:30 p.m. on Friday and Saturday and from 1 to 5 p.m. on Sunday.
