Anderson County Commissioners approved the purchase of software Friday that will aid the county in scanning and imaging documents — allowing the county to go paperless in certain areas.
The county approved the purchase of the Tyler Content Manager and Tyler Output Processor software from Tyler Technologies at a total cost of $12,750, plus an annual maintenance and support fee of $2,188.
“The software will allow us to scan and image documents, such as direct deposit pay stubs, so that we can e-mail them to employees,” County Auditor Karin Smith explained. “It will allow us to be paperless in that area and others, and will save the county paper costs.”
The $12,750 cost includes a $4,000 implementation cost, Smith said. The annual maintenance and support fee includes software upgrades and maintenance to the system as well as fixing any problems with the software.
Friday’s commissioners court meeting took the place of the regular second Monday meeting.
