PALESTINE — A third suspect in a Jan. 5 Montalba burglary involving two juveniles was arrested in Montgomery County last week and awaits transfer to Anderson County.

According to Anderson County Sheriff Greg Taylor, Carl Lee Wagner Jr., 20, of Cayuga, was arrested on Jan. 23 in Montgomery County (Conroe) on a warrant issued by the ACSO.

Investigator Ryan Tolliver, who is heading up the burglary investigation, learned that the suspect frequents the Montgomery County area and notified law enforcement there of Wagner’s warrant.

A 15-year-old and a 16-year-old juvenile were arrested for burglary of a habitation on Jan. 13 and 14, respectively, as part of the ongoing investigation into the burglary reported to the ACSO on Jan. 5.

According to reports, suspects gained access to the residence on ACR 4631 and stole more than $10,000 in electronics and jewelry, including flat screen televisions, computers, laptops, gold and silver necklaces, an ipad and gaming items.

“We have located some — a very small amount — of the property in an out-of-town pawn shop,” the sheriff said previously, reporting Tuesday that a “couple hundred dollars worth” of additional property has been recovered from Houston area pawn shops.

The investigation is ongoing, Taylor said.

“Investigator Ryan Tolliver has been investigating the case and its development, and discovered these suspects,” the sheriff said. “When we get (Wagner) here, we hope to get some more information out of him.”

Wagner’s bond has been set at $35,000.
