North Richland Hills Police Department is seeking information leading to the suspect(s) responsible for the murder of Marianne Wilkinson, 67, of North Richland Hills in 2007 and believes a person of interest might be living in Anderson County.
According to Anderson County Sheriff Greg Taylor, that same subject — a black male in his late 30s believed to reside in the Tennessee Colony area — is a person of interest in a local “cold” murder case as well.
“A person of interest,” Taylor said, “is someone who may have pertinent information about a case or who is a possible suspect in the case.”
Reports from the NRHPD state that Wilkinson and her husband were spending a quiet night together in their North Richland Hills home when, on Dec. 9, 2007, their doorbell unexpectedly rang. Mrs. Wilkinson answered the door and was fatally shot in her home by an unknown assailant.
The Wilkinsons were alone when the incident occurred and there is no known motive for the shooting. It is strongly believed this was a tragic case of mistaken identity and that neither Mrs. Wilkinson nor her family were the intended targets of this senseless violence.
“The North Richland Hills Police Department has continued to receive valuable tips since the murder occurred; however, we still need key bits of information that will bring this case to a conclusion,” NRH Police Department Investigator and Public Information Officer K. Bauman said. “With the help of the community, we hope to bring closure and peace to the Wilkinson family.“
Oak Farms Dairy has continued its partnership with NRHPD in offering a $10,000 reward for information that leads to the arrest and indictment of those responsible for the crime. In addition, a $1,000 reward also is being offered through Crime Stoppers of Tarrant County.
The North Richland Hills Police Department is asking anyone with information that could assist in the investigation to contact the North Richland Hills Police Department at 817-427-7000. To place a Crime Stoppers tip, simply go to 469tips.com or call 817-469-8477. All tipsters may remain anonymous.
