ACSO seeking 'armed and dangerous' subject

PALESTINE —

The Anderson County Sheriff's Office is seeking help from the public in locating a potentially dangerous suspect that has evaded law enforcement for a week now.

According to Sheriff Greg Taylor, suspect Millage Wayne Hawthorne, 36, is wanted on a parole violation warrant for the original charge of burglary of a habitation. He has a history of drug dealing and engaging in organized criminal activity.

“He is known to participate in some pretty dangerous activities and we need to get him off the streets,” Taylor said. “He is staying one step ahead of us, though, so we are hoping to get some help from the community.”

Anyone with information on the possible whereabouts of Hawthorne are asked to contact Anderson County Crime Stoppers at 903-729-8477 (for a cash reward) or an ACSO investigator at 903-729-6068.

“He was my first arrest as a deputy, and unfortunately, he has chosen to stay in trouble,” Taylor said. “He is possibly armed and dangerous, and definitely on the run.”
