Palestine Healthcare Center’s staff touted its newly renovated secured unit, other improvements and new management during an open house Tuesday.
The center’s management team includes administrator Michael Stork; director of nurses Cody Cuppes, D.O.N.; and marketing director Diane Davis.
“This was an opportunity for the business community and public to meet our new management and see our renovations,” Davis said during a tour of the nursing home.
In the secured unit, the nursing home houses residents with slight behavior issues, dementia and Alzheimer’s.
Palestine Healthcare Center now has two hospice family rooms, one sponsored by Bridgeway Hospice and the other by Hospice Plus. Ivin Smith Furniture donated items for the Bridgeway Hospice room, while Blake Furniture donated items for the Hospice Plus room.
“It’s a place where family members can come and stay with their loved ones during their last hours through hospice,” Davis said.
In total, Palestine Healthcare Center has 28 semi-private rooms, four private Medicare rooms, a private dining room and activity room.
The nursing facility accepts Medicare, private pay, Medicaid and Medicaid pending.
