As the Fourth of July nears, many Palestine residents have probably already returned from vacation or are planning to take one in the next couple of weeks.
The Herald-Press publishes a quarterly magazine called NFocus, with our next edition expected to hit the streets in August. Because we are currently working on the magazine, we would like to invite our readers to submit photos from their summer vacations — whether it was a one-day day trip to Six Flags Over Texas or a water park — or a couple of weeks in France or New York, for example.
Send in photos of the kids or the entire family near a landmark or scenic view — or something unique you captured on camera while on your trip that you think other readers will enjoy.
Besides the vacation photos, the Herald-Press also would like readers to send in patriotic photos for the magazine. Show us how you celebrate the Fourth of July or what the Fourth of July means to you — or dress up your children or pets in red, white and blue!
Deadline to submit the vacation photos and the patriotic photos will be at 5 p.m. Monday, July 22. Photos can be brought to the Herald-Press reception desk at 519 N. Elm St. during regular business hours from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. Photos also can be emailed to firstname.lastname@example.org.
The best photos will be used in the magazine as space allows. Extra vacation photos may be used in the newspaper later in the summer. Photos will be returned.
Please be sure to include a caption with the photo including full names of the people pictured and where and when the picture was taken. Please also include a contact name and phone number in case we have a question.
With Fourth of July coming up next week, please think about the patriotic photo request and be creative! We can’t wait to see your photos!
