Local shutterbugs are reminded to snap a few more photos and send in their entries for the Palestine Area Chamber of Commerce’s Second Annual Photo Contest, which is nearing its deadline.
The Chamber is looking for individuals in the community to enter its photo contest that will portray a variety of structures, landmarks and memorable locations in the Palestine and Anderson County area.
“We’ve had a few entries turned in and we hope to be getting a lot more before our deadline,” Chamber administrative assistant Kristy Kirkwood said Wednesday. “It’s open to everyone. We encourage photographers to take photos of landmarks, community events, historical sites or a nature photo they find appealing — the things that best illustrate Palestine.”
Photographers of any experience level (amateur or professional) and any age are invited to enter the contest. The judging will be for first-, second- and third place.
The winning photos will be included in the Chamber’s 2013-2014 “Presenting Palestine” magazine. Photographers will get photo credit when their photos are used. Photos will be judged on originality, clarity, and how they best show the quality of Palestine’s unique area.
The submitted photo must be a framed 8x10 print as well as a submitted high resolution 300 dpi digital photo in JPEG format. Submission is open through July 12 and judging will be held on July 16. Those interested in participating can contact the chamber at 903-729-6066 or email email@example.com.
