Dogwood Jamboree Christmas show set Dec. 8

(Continued)

PALESTINE — More Entertainment

Highlighting the regular entertainment for the Christmas show will be The Hall Brothers from Houston, consisting of siblings Matthew, Mitchell, Jack and Neil who together blend their voices for a four-part harmony.

“If you like The Statler Brothers, The Oakridge Boys, The Gatlin Brothers and Alabama, you will love this show. They will perform songs like ‘Dream On,’ ‘Elvira,’ Broken Lady, ‘Dig A Little Deeper in the Well’ ‘Do You Know You Are My Sunshine?’ ‘Oh, Play Me Some Mountain Music’ and other great hits, including some of the classic country Christmas songs,” Manuel said. “You will think you are listening to the original artists, because they are fabulous.”

Learning first to sing a cappella in a small Church of Christ in Stafford, Texas, the boys formed The Hall Brothers group in the 1980s. While all four men also pursued individual music endeavors, The Hall Brothers continued to perform over the years to crowds throughout the state of Texas, as well as having successful careers in public education.

Also performing during the Dogwood Jamboree include Joe Hancock, Tammy Bostick, Hal Roper, “Flo,” Sissy Perry, George Lester, Chloe Collins and Manuel.

Making a special appearance will be Santa Claus.

“The Christmas show is one of my favorite each year. To see all the children who come and enjoy seeing Santa really puts a smile on my face,” Manuel said.

Doors will open at 6 p.m. At the intermission, door prizes donated by local merchants and businesses will be given away.

Tickets are $12.50 in advance. For information or tickets, call 903-729-7080 or 903-724-2556. Tickets at the door are $15 for adults and $6 for children ages 6-10. Children under 5 years old get in free.
